Carol and Luis Cardenas were named "Partners in Preaching" and received the Praising Angel recognition from Prioress Sr. Heloise Cruzat, in the presence of the community gathered at their annual Convocation, June 4, 2004.
Cited by Sr. Heloise for their "consistent support of our mission in many and varied ways," the wife and husband team have participated in many of our events, programs and goals. As Development Director since 1992, Carol has promoted our several funds: Retirement Fund, the Ministry Fund, the Villa Fund, Sisters' Continuing Education, and ongoing emergency needs.
"Carol and Luis have always been very clear in their understanding that the search for funding of worthy causes is a ministry...and that understanding has undergirded Carol's professional services, and that same understanding has animated Luis' assistance with her services."
Carol is retiring from employment here but both Carol and Luis remain close friends and supporters of the Dominican Sisters.
