Our archives is a specialized collection of items unique to our Dominican Congregation – restricted to materials about our mission, our values, our lives, our history. The information is chronicled in these categories: General Holdings Houston Dominican history and publications, constitutions, directories, books, dissertations, theses, etc. Administrative Files Selected letters of major superiors, clergy, sponsored institutions, documents related to missions, newsletters, business transactions, materials related to important congregational events, Chapters, studies, etc. Audiotapes, Slides, DVDs, etc - only those related to Dominican history/ministries, interviews Pictures/Yearbooks Portraits of sisters, jubilee groups, mission events, buildings, Dominican school yearbooks & publications Individual Sister Files Mission records, entrance & death notices; newspaper stories, resumes, awards, accomplishments; personal memories, photos, community committee participation, writings In the archives, we engage in the sacred duty of preserving records and files, significant artifacts and other documents pertaining to the Sisters. The written and pictorial records of the Sisters and their past work link us to our living record. Researching and gathering information allows us to review the foundation of our community. Part of the work of the archives is to assist those looking for information about a certain sister or mission. The gathering of current events and ministries of the Sisters is ongoing.
