Bios for 2009 Dominican Jubilarians

Diamond:

Sr. Mary Frances Boddeker – Sr. Fran is from St. Mary of the Purification Parish and is a graduate of St. Agnes Academy. She has taught in schools in the Dioceses of Galveston-Houston and Austin, and served as principal in Austin and Taylor. She was administrator of Newman Hall, a Dominican college residence in Austin, and has also served in congregational leadership. Sr. Fran has been Mission Coordinator for the Houston Dominicans’ school in Guatemala since 1995.

Sr. Francis Marie Bordages – Sr. Francis Marie is from St. Anthony Parish in Beaumont, and graduated from St. Anthony High School. She has taught for almost 55 years in schools in the Dioceses of Galveston-Houston and Los Angeles, and served as principal of Queen of Peace in Houston. Since 1975 Sr. Francis Marie has taught at Seton Catholic Junior High, now Assumption Catholic School.

Sr. Camilla Micheletti – Sr. Camilla is from St. Mary’s Cathedral Parish in Galveston and graduated from Dominican High School, Galveston. Sr. Camilla has taught in the Dioceses of Galveston-Houston, Beaumont, Lake Charles and San Bernardino. She has served as Administrative Assistant at St. Dominic Villa, and as organist since 1996 at the DeBakey VA Medical Center.

Sr. Thomas Margaret Zagst – Sr. Thomas Margaret is from All Saints Parish, and is a graduate of St. Agnes Academy. Sister has taught in schools in the Dioceses of Galveston-Houston, Beaumont, and San Bernardino, also at Dominican College and Houston Community College. Sr. Thomas Margaret served for 30 years as Library Assistant at St. Mary Seminary.

Golden:

Sr. Thomas Ann LaCour – Sr. Thomas Ann is from St. Anne’s Parish in Beaumont, and graduated from St. Anthony High School. Sister has taught in the Dioceses of Galveston-Houston, Beaumont, and Los Angeles. Since 1982 she has served as founding principal of the School of Environmental Education in Plantersville.

Sr. Stephen Anne Zawacki – Sister Stephen Anne is from All Saints Parish and is a graduate of St. Agnes Academy. Sister has taught in schools in the Dioceses of Galveston-Houston, Austin and San Bernardino. She has served as principal in Riverside, Houston and Austin, and as Asst. Superintendent in Austin. Since 2002, Sister Stephen Anne has taught at Our Lady of Fatima in Texas City.

 

 

 

On October 25th the Archdiocesan Celebration of the Jubilees of Priests and Religious was held at All Saints Church Cardinal Daniel Dinardo celebrated Mass for the group of jubilarians that included Sr. Fran Boddeker, OP and Sr. Francis Marie, OP. The Cardinal introduced each jubilarian and presented each with a framed certificate. A reception followed in the parish hall.
